L'Aube Nouvelle est l'hymne national du Bénin. Il a été écrit et composé par l'Abbé Gilbert Jean Dagnon et adopté à l'indépendance du Dahomey en 1960.Quand en 1975 le Dahomey a été rebaptisé en Bénin, l'hymne national a été conservé, mais les occurrences des mots Dahomey et Dahoméen ont été remplacées dans le texte, respectivement, par Bénin et Béninois, ce qui explique que certains de ces alexandrins ont à présent... onze syllabes ! -------------------------------- L'Aube Nouvelle (The Dawn of a New Day) is the national anthem of Benin.
